Based on videos of how they do arrests, when ICE touches someone as part of an arrest they count is as assault on ICE. Like the politicians who are being charged with assault because ICE shoved them to the ground.

Cold water going by in close proximity will probably result in some splashing on you, plus the movement of cold air in close proximity is going to suck away some heat too.

It is kind of refreshing in the summer, but very different if it is chilly in the bathroom. Plus you can keep your PJs/robe/a towel on you to keep warm outside the shower while the water is warming up.

If you do water somersaults you have to push harder when upside down since the air escapes!

Insulation + retaining heat means it isn't nearly as energy inefficient as you think.

They keep the water tanks heated all day, and not heating the pipes means they have to do more work as they are drained of more water to fill the length of pipe to the shower which will then lose that heat over the course the day, only to need the water heater to heat it back up again.

I am still baffled by how many people suffer from Poseidon's Kiss on a regular basis. Like I've had it happen once or twice ever, and I'm not a spring chicken.

The fun part is watching your kids figure out complex and nuanced things that you never even thought about, much less understood, while struggling with those trivial tasks.

For the most part, yes. That is why they tended to congregate around water sources. Even early settlements and towns and cities were near waters sources even after we had portable water containers because water is heavy and large numbers of people need a large water source.

But before we changed the environment significantly, there were a lot more potable water sources. More streams, more water pooled up after rains, etc. that could be ingested because of a lack of human pollution. If humans were within a days walking distance of a water source, they could do their hunting and gathering nearby and drink up afterwards.

The distance from the heater to the shower is usually the biggest factor.

Also in the public sector and when I started, project managers were required to include everyone under the sun for pointless update meetings every two weeks for the PM to read out the reports everyone gave them so nobody missed anything. By the time they were done everyone wanted to bail, including me. They were meetings that could be an email, and if there were issues then additional meetings were scheduled.

Over time I have been promoted up through PM and now get to define the best practices for projects including meetings. My meetings are productive and people actually want to show up as they are discussions where work might be canceled or put off so people don't get overloaded. I make sure everyone is included without putting anyone on the spot. The departments we work with to create web apps like us more since we started giving reasons for saying no instead of working devs to death in overtime because PMs were not allowed to say no.

I do have one project that is an albatross I can't kill because of the sunk cost fallacy, but at least it is one small project that gets raised every few months to get put on the backburner while the largest and most complex project is now running smoothly. Other PMs have also improved their interactions when they were given examples in how to more clearly communicate their challenges, although a few don't want to give up the 'do everything asked' approach.

We have also had 5 developers who left for the private sector come back over the last 10 years because of the work culture. The grass wasn't greener, but they did come back with new skills and a better appreciation for the improved communication and overtime is almost entirely voluntary!

Also, doctors used to say smoking doesn’t cause cancer.

Doctors paid by cigarette companies said that, and they were in a tiny minority of doctors.

There are scientists now who say global warming is a hoax because they have a monetary interest.
