What approach? Because I bet you heard about "the approach" from a very particular ex blizzard employee with a large following that is against it. The approach is reasonable - release the server code so people can host their own when a company abandons them. It is 100% a reasonable ask.
You should give it a try, it is some of the weirdest and coolest tech in controllers. It's the only one I use for gaming, dropped every other for it. The gyro aiming thing is such a weird yet natural concept it's just funny nobody thought of it before them. Lots of settings to go through before it works well for a specific game. I set it up for CSGO and was able to play at like 80% of my usual skill (LEM at the time), with spray control being amazing on it compared to mouse. Honestly, if I had it when I was learning to play FPS when I was young, I'd probably be better on it than kb+m

The pipes go into the wall, older houses have them running outside the wall, right next to it, especially for stuff like radiator pipes. Wiring goes into the wall and gets plaster put over it. Saw a false ceiling in bathrooms too, since that had a lot of little lights so they probably ran it that way to keep it simpler. A lot of buildings just aren't insulated, especially older ones, walls do an okayish job already. But newer buildings have styrofoam on the outside of the building. Makes em pretty much have the exact same temp year round, unless you open a window.
